Description
Landscape Crew Members are highly detailed lawn maintenance professionals who are open minded and eager to learn the trade for our Spring/Summer/Fall season. The crew member’s main objective is to work as part of a team to accomplish the daily goals of a set mowing, weeding, and maintenance schedule for our range of residential and commercial properties. The crew member is expected to have a strong work ethic, pride in their performance, and a positive attitude.
Position is for Full-Time Seasonal work with the possibility to move into a permanent position coming into the winter plow season that would include being available and ready for all snow/ice events. Tasks would include shoveling and salting walks on the accounts during that time.
Pay ranges from $18-$25/hour dependent on experience and interview
Responsibilities
- Arrive to Shop prepared for work with: lunch, water, and proper uniform/dress at least ten minutes before start of shift. Work weeks are Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5:30 pm, depending on season and workload.
- Maintain high standards of organization and cleanliness of jobsites, trucks, and all equipment used.
- Educate yourself on safety procedures to ensure proper safety at all times, while maintaining and promoting quality and efficiency.
- Conduct daily inspection of tools, trucks, and mechanical equipment used by your crew and report any findings.
- Learn and perform the essential functions of lawn maintenance including the operation of any tools or equipment needed to perform the function.
- Learn and perform the essential functions of spring and fall cleanups including the operation of any tools or equipment needed to perform the function.
- Learn and comprehend the principles, responsibilities, roles, and methods that Top Dog Landscaping utilizes. .
- Responsibilities may fluctuate from those listed based on the season and the needs of the company.
Personal Skills
- Experience in the landscape and grounds maintenance industry preferred including operation of the tools needed to perform the tasks, but willing to train the right candidate.
- Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, small engine equipment and materials
- Ability to stand, kneel, crouch, be on feet for 8-10 hours a day, and carry out strenuous physical tasks.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. repeatedly through workday
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team.
- Work near heavy equipment and other vehicles on a regular basis
- Work outdoors in various conditions including heat, humidity, rain, dust, dampness, noise and cold
- Ability to work extended hours (ie: more than 40 per week if needed). Some weekends may be required to accommodate clients’ needs and work around weather conditions
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record are preferred, but are not required.
